What SOC Teams Really Need in 2025 – Straight from the Front Lines

Cyber attackers are evolving fast—and many security operations centers (SOCs) are struggling to keep up. While infrastructures stretch across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments, SOC teams are expected to respond faster, smarter, and with fewer resources.

To understand what SOC professionals need most, we surveyed Radware customers across industries. The feedback was clear, honest—and eye-opening.

Here’s what they shared:

SOCs Are Still Playing Catch-Up

Our first finding? Many teams are still reacting to threats, not getting ahead of them.

Over 60% of respondents admitted they rely on static rules or reactive updates to protect complex infrastructures. Only 1 in 4 said they proactively tune defenses as environments evolve.

When it comes to AI-driven threats, 70% of teams have either seen signs or feel underprepared. Only 6.7% say they’re fully ready with AI-based defenses in place.

What SOCs Want Next

Despite the challenges, security teams know what they need. We asked them about key capabilities, AI readiness and their biggest obstacles to safety. Here's what they had to say:

Customer Voices from the Field

Open-ended feedback from Radware customers painted an even richer picture of what our customers are focused on right now:

“AI-based prevention and reporting are must-haves.”

"We’re exploring safe ways to enable Bot Manager—security can’t wait."

"Please investigate slow and fast DDoS attack vectors and offer proactive solutions."

Many praised Radware’s threat intelligence and automation capabilities. But they also asked for faster response options, better integration, and GenAI-powered guidance. We hear you.
